5 more days...

...until Harmony Highlands!!! Woo Hoo!!! Yes, it's almost here. Get excited people. Get very excited. And, if you aren't already excited enough, maybe this video of photos from last year will help.

Continue in prayer that next week will be a tremendous blessing, filled with joy, love, peace, fellowship, and as always, lots of singing. Can't wait to see you there.

Summer Freebies

Chic-Fil-A + Free Food = Me at Chic-Fil-A (with the rest of Birmingham)

Chic-Fil-A is giving away food over the next couple of Thursdays as part of a summer give-away. Tonight, it was an 8-count nugget. So, I drove myself over to Chic-Fil-A and took part. I'm addicted to Chic-Fil-A. ADDICTED. I probably would have eaten there tonight had it not been partially free, but free food made it even more enticing. I think next Thursday you get the strips free, and the next Thursday is the sandwich. Birmingham only (sorry!). 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Bless 'em.

We Don't Mix

Okay, so I know I'm going to be a pharmacist and all. But, up until a couple of months ago if you gave me one of these babies I was on the floor in about 5 minutes. And it isn't the pain. I mean they really don't hurt that much. It's more the thought of a needle going into my skin. So when I found out that I was going to have to give a shot to my friend in school I thought...uh no. Not me. But then I did it. Just in and out. No biggie. So I was done with that right. Never again would I inject anything into anybody. And then my grandmother gets sent home with Lovenox. And you know who gets volunteered...that's right me. I've given injections before. Nevermind that it was only once and it was saline and there was a teacher standing right there beside me and it was my friend who of course was being super supportive because she was about to give one right back to me. But yea, you can do it Emily. Are these people crazy??? Ok, seriously, I'm not that bad. But this is my last time...never again;)

Strike 2

I attempted to eat sushi for the second time last night. I can't remember what I had the first time, but I went with a friend, and she showed me the basics of how to eat it. Put a SMALL, and I emphasize SMALL, amount of wasabi on it, dip it in soy sauce, and stuff the whole thing in your mouth. So, I did. The taste itself isn't terrible. Just different. Very different. And, the texture, well...I think that's what bothers me so much. I'm not sure I can even describe it. Think soft blob of small, cold rice, and other small, cold, raw things. Last night, it was a roll called Happy. It didn't make me sad, but I'm not sure I can say it made me "happy". It was filled with crab, avocado, cream cheese, apple, and cucumber. I ate two, as I did the first time I ate sushi, and then passed them to everyone else around the table. No wasabi this time. I tried it plain the first time, and with soy sauce only the second time. And, two was plenty for me anyways. It's a very, very filling dish.

I did learn how to use chopsticks correctly last night, so that I might even try to use them again. (Thanks, Morgan!) But, as for sushi again, let's just say, one more strike and I'm done. Can't say I haven't tried.
